The work of DGMT and how this links to the Fellowship
The Innovation Fellowship is funded by DGMT as part of its ten-part strategy to uplift South Africa. This strategy involves ten opportunities. The Innovation Fellowship falls under Opportunity One: to drive public innovation by reigniting civil society.
Purpose and overview of the Fellowship
The DGMT Innovation Fellowship develops young people across South Africa working in the civil society sector.
Over one year, and through a series of immersive workshops, coaching and assignments, two Fellows from each participating organisation are supported in becoming innovative change agents and leaders within their organisations and the wider sector.
We aim to spark innovation and leadership among young people so they can craft solutions to the social issues facing South African communities
Overview of Alumni network
The Alumni Network aims to grow members’ leadership skills and practices, to communicate their work to a broader audience and to harness their efforts in the interests of broader agendas. Members are invited to connect through a range of online platforms, including our exclusive Alumni LinkedIn Group.
On completion of the 12-month programme, Fellows automatically graduate into the Alumni Network

How to Nominate

You can nominate yourself and/or your organisation (in this case, someone from within the organisation will submit the nomination) OR
-
You can nominate an organisation that you don't work for but that you think will benefit from the Fellowship.
Only shortlisted candidates or organisations are invited to apply.
Every year, DGMT offers this Fellowship Programme to 18 young leaders. Since 2018, 137 fellows from 77 South African NGOs have completed the fellowship.
