The Innovation Fellowship takes nominations throughout the year.

The Innovation Fellowship develops young civil society leaders across South Africa. Over one year, through immersive workshops, coaching and assignments, two Fellows from each participating NGO are supported to develop as innovative change agents within their organisations and the wider sector.

The fellowship accepts nominations throughout the year. We accept three kinds of nominations:

  • AYou can nominate yourself OR
  • AYou can nominate your organisation OR
  • AYou can nominate an organisation that you aren't part of but that you think will benefit from the Fellowship.

Only shortlisted candidates or organisations are invited to complete a full application.”

The Innovation Fellowship is recruiting for its seventh cohort in 2024!

The organisation must:

  • be a registered NPO and
  • the leadership team must have a desire to expand leadership and innovation skills throughout the organisation

Potential Fellows must:

  • be employed by an NPO, and
  • be between the ages of 25 and 35 years, and
  • have a desire to expand their own leadership and innovation skills

What is the selection process?

Shortlisted organisations and individuals invited for interview

  • AIndividuals and organisations can make nominations for the Innovation Fellowship throughout the year.
  • AIn October - November, from the list of nominations, the Innovation Fellowship team will make selections and invite organisations to apply.
  • AThe Innovation Fellowship team reaches out to each organisation's CEO or Director with more information on the application process.
  • AIn February, the Innovation Fellowship team shortlists applications and invites individuals for a short interview.
  • AIn March, the final selection is made. Each year, 22 Fellows are invited to join the Innovation Fellowship.
