The DGMT Innovation Fellowship is designed for individuals and organisations committed to rethinking how things are done, challenging the status quo, and fostering innovation. We aim to attract Fellows from both urban and rural areas and seek specific qualities in potential Fellows, organisational leaders, and applications. Here’s what we look for:
1. The potential Fellow?
We are looking for changemakers within organisations—people who are passionate about their work, eager to explore new ways of thinking, and committed to innovation. The ideal potential Fellow is someone who actively seeks opportunities like the Fellowship as an opportunity for them to grow. They take pride in their work, value their organisation, and have a close connection to the community that they work in. If you often reflect on how things can be done differently and have the drive to bring about this change, this Fellowship is for you.
2. The kind of organisational leader we need
For the Fellowship to have the most impact, we need leaders who believe in innovation and are willing to support their Fellows in experimenting with new ideas. This means engaging in the process, making space for Fellows to explore creative thinking, and being open to the insights they bring.
3. What we want to see in the applications
We are particularly interested in how your organisation encourages innovation, the culture and values that drive your work, a real challenge your organisation is facing—something that a Fellow could explore deeply to drive meaningful change. We also want to see why the organisational leader is selecting this nominee—what do you see in this person, and what are your hopes for them in the Fellowship? Lastly we hope to see more applications from organisations focused on advocacy, employment, development, SGBV, LGBTQ+, resource access, race, environment, and human rights.
